My sweet baby @ 3 years.
When I got pregnant with my daughter(Abbygail), I thought her daddy, her & me were going to be a family forever & ever. Well..needless to say, it didn't turn out that way. Her dad & I did good together until she was about 1 year old..then we had to call it quits..the relationship was just not working anymore. From there, I moved out and in with a friend..and he kept Abbygail from me! I thought we were going to do the break-up maturely like adults, but I guess not. So, I had to get a lawyer and we had to do a bunch of court related stuff. But then, finally.. we both started being mature.. and agreed to share custody of Abbygail, he would have her 50% of the time & so would I. He gets to keep her from sunday morning until wednesday evening.. and I get to have her from wednesday evening to sunday morning. Now, I think this works out great! We do have to meet in town on the days we switch..which is sometimes a pain to get there & to get the gas to get there..but her daddy (& her dad's mom [her grandma] also helps out a bunch too!) is very easy to work with now & if for some reason we can't make it to town, they will come pick her up at our house..which is great. I love the arrangement though, cause I actually get a chance to miss my little girl.. and on wednesday's when I pick her up.. it's like i haven't seen her in months and it makes me realize how much I love her & never want anything to happen to her.. or to our relationship. I love it also, because I have some free mommy time too, to go out when her dad has her.. and to just get some time off to rest. I like it because I don't think i'll ever be one of those mothers who are crazy & yell & get's so tired of her kids, because I actually have a reasonable break from my daughter, and I know when she's not with me she's still taken care of & loved. The only thing I worry about is when she gets old enough to go to school..because me & her dad live on opposite sides of the county.. so we really don't know how we're going to work out what school she'll go to. But, we've made it this far, and i'm sure we can figure it out when the time comes. My little girl is 3 years old now & still growing! When she's with me.. she talks about her dad & grandma.. and when she's with them.. i'm sure she talks about me too. I love the arrangement.. and I think she does too..she's happy. I don't think she likes being in one place all the time anyway.. kids love to switch things up! I love my daughter more than anything, and I thought i'd share my story with you guys on Newsvine. :)
